FAQ
Common questions
Everything you need to know before we start working together.
1. What is Core Scope Endoscopy?
Core Scope Endoscopy is developing an intelligent colonoscopy platform focused on three key procedural challenges: loop management, navigation and mucosal visualisation. Its technology combines a mechanical Loop Straightener with AI-enabled Colon Mapping and Path Finder technologies.
2. What is the Core Scope Loop Straightener?
The Loop Straightener is a single-use colonoscopy adjunct being developed to provide additional mechanical control when looping occurs and help reduce recurrent loop formation during colonoscope advancement. It is designed to work alongside conventional colonoscopes and existing workflows.
3. What are Colon Mapping and Path Finder?
Colon Mapping is AI-enabled software being developed to map mucosal visualisation and identify areas that may not have been adequately inspected. Path Finder is AI-enabled navigation technology being developed to support orientation and direction of travel during colonoscopy.
4. Is Core Scope's technology compatible with existing colonoscopy systems?
Yes. The Loop Straightener is being designed for compatibility with conventional colonoscopes and existing endoscopy workflows. The AI technologies are also being developed to work alongside current endoscopy systems and existing CADe technologies.
5. What stage of development is Core Scope at?
Core Scope has developed a TRL 4 prototype, with the Loop Straightener demonstrated on phantom colons. Proof-of-concept development was presented at the EAES 2026 Congress in Athens. The company is progressing through engineering validation, AI dataset development, design verification and validation, and towards clinical evaluation.
6. How can organisations work with Core Scope?
Core Scope welcomes opportunities for clinical collaboration, research, technology partnerships and investment. Organisations interested in working with the company can contact the Core Scope team through the Contact page.
