Colonoscope looping can make advancement technically demanding and increase the physical effort required from the endoscopist.

The colon is a deformable three-dimensional structure viewed through a two-dimensional endoscopic image, making orientation and direction of travel challenging.
Mucosal Coverage
Even when lesion-detection AI performs well, it cannot identify pathology in mucosa that has not been adequately visualised.

The Core Scope Loop Straightener is being developed as a single-use add-on to conventional colonoscopes. It is designed to provide the endoscopist with additional mechanical control when looping occurs and to help reduce recurrent loop formation during advancement.
