Colonoscope looping can make advancement technically demanding and increase the physical effort required from the endoscopist. It can also contribute to patient discomfort and may be particularly challenging in patients with previous surgery.

Core Scope is developing the Loop Straightener to address this persistent procedural challenge.

For patients, difficult insertion can contribute to discomfort and may require increased sedation. The challenge can be particularly pronounced in patients with previous abdominal or pelvic surgery, where altered anatomy may make colonoscope advancement more complex.
